Beautiful Handicrafts of Tohoku, Japan

This exhibition is one of activities of Japan Foundation Manila as a part of Philippine-Japan Friendship Month in July, This is a commemoration of 3.11 Earthquake and Tsunami happened in Tohoku Region, Japan, with a travelling exhibition which includes different crafts, works and other traditional handicrafts of the people from Tohoku region, the victims of earthquake and tsunami from 2011.




Visiting these kind of exhibition somehow made me smile thinking how they manage to make those kind of amazing handicrafts. In this exhibition, it shows the skills of the people when it comes to woods, baskets, pottery, lacquer ware, embroidery, hand painting crafts and more.





This one of the most amazing hand-painted kite made of Japanese paper. Clearly it shows a lot of their skills and creativeness in any way.


According to Ayala Museum, the official partner of Japan Foundation Manila (JFM), this exhibition has already travelled to Hungary, China, Vietnam and Thailand. It runs from June 16 - July 26, 2015, then the next stop will be South Korea.

I know it's raining cats and dogs out there, but if you have time on your vacant day, you can bring your whole family to Ayala Museum to witness the amazing and beautiful handicrafts of Tohoku, Japan.
